One of the more interesting things to pop out of the TORn mega-spoiler list relates to Bard, the Black Arrow and the weapon known as the Windlance.
Readers, of course, already know that Bard’s Black Arrow plays a critical role in Smaug’s attack on Lake-town.
“Arrow!” said the bowman. “Black arrow! I have saved you to the last. You have never failed me and always I have recovered you. I had you from my father and he from of old. If ever you came from the forges of the true king under the Mountain, go now and speed well!”
The Hobbit, Fire and Water
This is where, in Peter Jackson’s trio of films, events have begun to diverge. (It’s also, by the way, where we’re going to head into movie spoiler and speculation territory.) Continue reading “Analysis: Bard, the Black Arrow and the Windlance”
Some of the coolest things you’ll see at Comic-Con are the Lego built characters either at their booth, other booths, and even outside of the convention center itself.
This year if you happen to make it to the Warner Bros. booth (#4545) you will get to see a Lego Smaug standing over six feet tall and weighing 411 pounds. Smaug took 625 hours to complete and includes 83,433 pieces. The folks at Lego also have some surprises for fans showing off new sets for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies as well as an exclusive Bard figure. Also like last year this shirt will sell out fast as it is being limited to only 500 pieces worldwide and comes in with a price tag of $40. We’ve got another video review for you today, of the one environment I’ve been waiting to get my hands on since I saw The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in theaters. One of my favorite things about this particular environment was the front part of it that you could see standing outside the mountain, with that great Dwarven design, as well as those amazing Dwarven Guards. Finally, after a long wait we can now add at least this part of Erebor – with hopefully more to come, with something similar to the Moria Environment from The Lord of the Rings statue line. The Front Gate of Erebor comes in at $199 as well as being an open edition, so if you need to save a little you have some time. The size of this environment comes in at 10.6″ tall x 8.9″ wide x 5.7″ deep and weighs 6.9lbs.
