Weta Workshop is at it again! This time they’re wowing fans on the East Coast with the goodies they brought with them to New York Comic-Con. This event brought us several new items from both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. From The Hobbit Trilogy we got an amazing Smaug bust it is a hugely detailed piece giving fans a super upclose look at him without being turned to ash. You can order Smaug right now for $399 with it shipping in Dec/Jan. Also up for order and a new piece from NYCC is one of the cooler looking Orcs in this set of films Yazneg. Like the other Orcs he has that brutal looking skirt of Dwarf faces. You can also pre-order him right now for $279 with him arriving in Dec/Jan. The final Hobbit item is one that debut at Comic-Con this past July. Ori the Dwarf comes to fans with an edition size of only 500 pieces and with a price of $249 he is sure to sell fast. One of the pieces that stole Comic-Con 2014, and was a big hit again this year at Comic-Con 2015, is the amazing Smaug the Terrible by Weta Workshop. Sculpted by Lindsey Crummett and Gary Hunt this piece is a perfect representation of what we saw of Smaug during The Hobbit Trilogy. Smaug is easily one of Weta’s best pieces with some of the most fantastic details and paints we’ve seen. You can get Smaug for $749 with an edition size of 2000 pieces world-wide. He is worth every last penny. As you may have heard me say in my Comic-Con booth tour, if you only get one piece from The Hobbit then this is one you should.

The last two days have seen two new items from our friends at Weta that are tied to this, the final film in the fantastic Hobbit Trilogy.
The first item landed yesterday and was something we saw at Comic-Con 2014 to do with a certain Dragon Slayer. That’s right, fans can now get one of Weta’s amazing statues capturing Bard the Bowman. This statue of Bard is so well done, with all the usual great details, as well as a dead on likeness to Luke Evans. Bard is currently up for pre-order for $299 with an expected ship date during quarter one of next year. There is also a small deposit that will be required at the time of order for those who will be one of only 1000 people to own this statue.
One of my favorite moments from the last film was The White Council taking on the Necromancer in Dol Guldur. Now if you’ve always wanted to own Saruman’s Staff, Weta has now released this amazing prop replica for you to add to your collection. Limited to just 1500 pieces worldwide you can snag this replica for $249 with a deposit at the time of purchase, and you should have this sometime during quarter one of next year.

The first new item is from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and is none other than the Dragon himself Smaug. This is the mini-version we saw at Comic-Con this past July. This fun sized Smaug which is still plenty big, considering that Smaug himself isn’t a tiny one, comes in with solid price tag of $125, which will be shipping between December-February. Anyone that orders Smaug – King Under The Mountain will have to put down a 20% NRD when they order.

Today is the day! As we promised you last week, the Smaug the Terrible statue by our friends at Weta Workshop has gone up for order. This was a show stealing piece last year at Comic-Con, and I know many fans including myself have been waiting to get a chance to order this piece. Smaug went up today at 11am PST with a special pre-order price of $699, which is good through January 25th of next year; after that date the price will go up to $749. Another note about the pre-order: when fans place their orders there will be a $100 NRD (Non-Refundable Deposit) at the time of order. Smaug has an edition size of 2000 pieces world-wide, and as per the sign at Comic-Con is due to ship in quarter one of next year. Do not hesitate to order this piece and add what will be a grail into your collection!
