Craig ParkerDeej writes: Unfortunately, due to work commitments John Noble will not be attending DragonCon this year. However, the wonderful Craig Parker was just added to the guest list! He joins the impressive lineup of Tolkien scholars and artists already confirmed, as well as TORn’s own MrCere and his eagerly awaited panel on the upcoming ‘Hobbit’ film. More..

Peter JacksonComic-Con, a world showcase of pop-culture, has been trying to land Peter Jackson for the last decade since it was announce that he would helm the three-film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of The Rings.” Jackson sent along video to the mega-show for both LOTR and King Kong but for the first time the now big-time director will make the show in person. DragonCon 2008The 2009 DragonCon schedule promises to be interesting and fun and features John Noble, a list of speakers and even TheOneRing.net. The event takes place annually, this year September 4-7, in a series of hotels in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. You can read details about the convention here and all the details of the Tolkien programming right here. TORn is scheduled to present an unauthorized look at everything we know so far about the production of ‘The Hobbit’ films and then present for discussion many of the things still open for speculation just as official pre-production begins.

Happy, happy birthday to TheOneRing.net!! TheOneRing.net domain name was created exactly 10 years ago today and what an awesome journey it’s been. We can’t thank the founders (pictured below) enough, except to christen this day as “Founders Day” and to continue to celebrate on every Anniversary (who doesn’t love a good party).

A reminder, the celebration on our message boards is still going strong, with many fun activities and many well wishes from our VIP friends. So please join us. Here’s to ten more wonderful years!!

Laurie has written about magical borders, clearly demonstrating that myth is never wholly a question of geographical boundaries. Continue reading “John Howe’s Journal: MAGICAL BORDERS”

Garfeimao sends along word that John Noble will be attending LA Con in May to promote his hit show Fringe (which I love). He will be there Saturday attending the Saturday Night Dessert party, John will be having an exclusive luncheon for five fans. More news soon. Also at the con are some interesting folks like: JERI RYAN, LINDA HAMILTON, MICHELLE FORBES, KELLAN LUTZ, MICHAEL WELCH, ASHLEY GREENE (all 3 Twilight), SENDHIL RAMAMURTHY (HEROESʼ Mohinder Suresh), CHARISMA CARPENTER. Take a look at Creation’s LA Con page.
