Beecake+aWhew! After a party like that we all needed a couple of days’ rest! Fresh after their stunning  performance at our special Hobbit Oscar night, THE ONE EXPECTED PARTY, the magical musical darlings known as Beecake will join us *live* on our chat show TORn TUESDAY in just a few minutes! We are very glad to have Billy Boyd, Billy Johnston, Paul Burke, and Rick Martin join us at the Meltdown Comics Vault, from where we broadcast our live streaming video show every Tuesday at 5pm Pacific Time. Hosted by your congenial M.C. and TORn Staffer Clifford ‘Quickbeam’ Broadway, you can participate with the live chat by coming into our Barliman’s  Chat Room that is built-in to our Live Event Page here. Beecake featuring Billy BoydSo you’re in LA for The One Expected Party; you’re going to An Unexpected Art Show on Friday night; you’re spending Saturday afternoon at the pub with fellow fans, old friends and new; but come Saturday night, on ‘Oscars Eve’, you still want to party.  Where are you going to go?

The answer is simple – warm up for Sunday’s party by going to see Beecake play at The Hotel Cafe!  Billy Boyd and his band mates will be on stage at 11pm at the venue in Hollywood; details can be found, and tickets can be purchased, here.  (Please note this event is 21+)

Then grab a few hours sleep before the big event on Sunday afternoon!  See you there!

Some of the Middle-earth clothing from Black Milk has made a splash on our Facebook page but with fashion and popular culture taking center stage this week leading up to our own One Expected Party on Oscar night, it seemed a good time to share it here. Will we see a Doorway party dress? How about Witch King leggings? While we kind of want to chastise the company for not hyphenating and not making the e lower case in Middle-earth, its pretty cool to see a company take geek culture in mainstream directions. Its R2-D2 dress is well-known on websites like Tumblr, Twitter and Pinterest. The Australian company gets our kudos for making geek, chic. In the meantime, if you want to or plan to be in the Los Angeles area this weekend and want to join us for the party, we would love to have you, even if you aren’t wearing all the names of the dwarves on your leggings. Tickets remain and with food and entertainment like One Man LOTR and Billy Boyd’s Beekcake on the musical menu, and Hobbit Oscar nominations for visual effects, hair and makeup and production design, it will be a night of legend.

TornTuesdays_dombillyIt has been a very long while since both Merry & Pippin were back together causing mischief! TheOneRing.net is quite thrilled to host our *EXCLUSIVE* live webcast featuring our very own Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan on a special edition of TORn TUESDAYS (at a special earlier time)! Join host Clifford Quickbeam Broadway as we broadcast live from Meltdown Comics in the heart of Hollywood, at 1:00pm Pacific Time on Tuesday afternoon, not the usual 5pm! Dom will be talking about the launch of his new series on BBC America: WILD THINGS WITH DOMINIC MONAGHAN and Billy will bring the musical goods as his band BEECAKE have just launched a wonderful new album, Blue Sky Paradise (available on iTunes Store)…. You will see Beecake perform *live* at our huge Oscar Event on February 24th: The One Expected Party!

The two young hobbits have expanded their careers to great heights, and here is your chance to catch up with them both! You can bring your questions and join the built-in chat here on our Live Event Page, or turn on your camera and join on Stickam here.

REMEMBER: We begin the show at 1:00pm Pacific Time! Check here for round-the-world times for the start of TORn TUESDAY.

greendragon with actor John Bell, who plays Bain in The Hobbit movies

On 12th December staffer greendragon was lucky enough to attend the red (well, actually it was green!) carpet in Leicester Square, London, for the Royal Film Performance of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.   Many of the film’s stars – and other celebs who were there to see the movie – stopped by to say hi, and were delighted to see TheOneRing.net (‘our special friends,’ as Peter Hambleton said) represented there.  This is because YOU, our readers, are all so fabulous – everyone involved with the films knows that the best fans are the ones who visit TORn.  😉  So here, as a little festive mathom offered to you all from us, the staffers at TORn, is a video of some greetings (and some ‘woohoos’!) to you all, from the folks who work in Middle-earth.

After a little footage of the set up in Leicester Square to set the scene, you’ll see John Bell (Bain) and his parents, Graham McTavish (Dwalin), James Nesbitt (Bofur), William Kircher (Bifur) and his beautiful wife Nicole, artist Alan Lee, Stephen Hunter (Bombur), Peter Hambleton (Gloin), Jed Brophy (Nori), Adam Brown (Ori), and of course Dominic Monaghan (Merry) and Billy Boyd (Pippin)- who were there to see the movie and revisit old haunts!  Enjoy!  Wishing you all happy holidays!

What a line up we have for folks who join us at The One Expected Party to celebrate The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on Oscars night next February!  Our live show (which will take place after the Academy Awards broadcast) already includes Emerald Rose, Charles Ross’ One Man Lord of the Rings, Hunter Davis – Ian McKellen impersonator extraordinaire, and Billy Boyd with Beecake.

Now we are thrilled to announce that joining the line up will be musicians Dorian Mirth!  Performing on a wide variety of period instruments (including recorders, harp, mandolin, krumhorn, zither, hurdy-gurdy and viola da gamba), Dorian Mirth specializes in Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and British folk music, as well as the occasional cover from various fantasy films!  The band is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is composed of friends drawn together by their love of music, movies, history, costuming, and all things Tolkien-related.  Having previously performed at Bowlmoot, Two Towers: One Party, The Return of the One Party, and various TORn line parties for the Lord of the Rings films, we are thrilled that Dorian Mirth will be making an appearance at The One Expected Party! Visit them online at dorianmirth.com and facebook.com/dorianmirth

This is the kind of line up Middle-earth fans dream of – where else can you see all these amazing performers in one place?!  Plus you can expect a few surprises on the night – so don’t delay, buy your tickets before they sell out!  Click here to buy.
