The folks from Revolver Entertainment send along the trailer for Sean Bean’s latest film ‘Black Death’: The film is a historical epic set during the deadly pandemic of the 14th Century. Sean Bean stars as the fearsome knight Ulrich, who is tasked with leading his group of mercenaries to a remote village where it is rumoured there are no traces of the pestilence. Their quest is to hunt down a necromancer – someone able to bring the dead back to life.

Their journey is treacherous and filled with danger; encountering deadly bandits and vicious witch-burnings that will put their faith to the ultimate test. Though it’s upon entering the village that their true horror begins…

Sean Bean in armour with beard? Check. Carrying a sword? Check. Helping lead companions into certain danger? Check. This reporter couldn’t help but feel a bit like I was watching some kind of Boromir side-adventure when viewing the latest trailer for ‘Black Death.’ Check it out at the official website. You are warned however…this one looks like it’s gonna be violent! [Official Website]

An old TORn friend writes in:
“According to George R.R. Martin’s “Not a Blog” the latest Calendar of paintings of locations from his “Song of Ice and Fire” fantasy series will be illustrated by none other than LOTR illustrator Ted Nasmith. According to Martin’s website, the calendar will be debuting from publisher Bantam Spectra at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con in July.

For fans of Westros and other “Ice and Fire” environs, this series is currently in production with HBO starring Sean Bean. (But you already knew that…) I’m sure that Ted Nasmith isn’t the last LOTR alum to hop onboard this blockbuster fantasy series!
