LOTR SymphonyThe St. Louis Symphony will be be performing Howard Shore’s ‘The Lord of Rings Symphony’ at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19 and 20 at Powell Hall in St. Louis, MO. Tickets go on sale to the public Monday June 16, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

Reports have been coming in regarding the U.S. premier of The Fellowship of the Ring screening with the score performed live at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts last week. Zack writes: There will be a screening of FOTR with a live symphony on April 24 2008 for one night only in Winnipeg Manitoba (Canada). It will be at the MTS Center (downtown Winnipeg), FOTR will be played on a 800 foot Hi Definition screen. The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra will be performing Howard Shore’s score along with the movie live as well as over 100 singers for the choir and solos. There are 4 areas to sit, Floor, 1st level, 2nd level and 3rd level. The MTS Center is also a hockey rink so you can imagine that the floor seats is on the unfrozen ice and 1st-3rd levels are higher up in the stands.
