Tomorrow (Saturday) at 5pm ET, Hall of Fire rejoins the action of the Return of the King. Events are moving quickly -– Sauron is on the move, and the muster of Rohan must occur soon if Minas Tirith is to survive.
[Aragorn] looked up, and it seemed that he had made some decision; his face was less troubled. “Then, by your leave, lord, I must take new counsel for myself and my kindred. We must ride our own road, and no longer in secret. For me the time of stealth has passed. I will ride east by the swiftest way, and I will take the Paths of the Dead.’

Tomorrow (Saturday) at 5pm ET, in our weekly Hall of Fire chats we’ll be cracking open the first chapter of The Return of the King and joining Gandalf and Pippin as they ride through the night toward Minas Tirith.
As they ride, the beacons of Gondor summon Rohan to aid the city.
‘Mithrandir! Mithrandir!’ men cried. ‘Now we know that the storm is indeed nigh!’
‘It is upon you,’ said Gandalf. ‘I have ridden on its wings. Let me pass! I must come to your Lord Denethor, while his stewardship lasts. Whatever betide, you have come to the end of the Gondor that you have known. Let me pass!’

Disagreement and argument is inevitable in any fandom. However, there’s a point where the disgreements become so vehement, and the positions of the sides so entrenched that constructive debate becomes impossible.
At that point you have what media and fandom wiki TV Tropes calls a Broken (Fan)Base.

This weekend at 5pm ET Sunday, Hall of Fire resumes Two Towers chapter chats with the penultimate chapter of Book IV — Shelob’s Lair.
‘This is the way in,’ said Gollum softly. ‘This is the entrance to the tunnel.’ He did not speak its name: Torech Ungol, Shelob’s Lair. Out of it came a stench, not the sickly odour of decay in the meads of Morgul, but a foul reek, as if filth unnameable were piled and hoarded in the dark within.

Our chapter-by-chapter discussions on the middle installment of J.R.R Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings are coming to a close. Later today in Hall of Fire at 5pm EST we’ll be discussing the chapter that takes Frodo, Sam and Gollum to the edge of Ithilien as the Black Land itself broods and gathers its strength for some vast assault upon the Free Peoples of Middle-earth.
My scouts and watchers have all returned, even some that have crept within sight of the Morannon. They all find a strange thing. The land is empty. Nothing is on the road, and no sound of foot, or horn, or bowstring is anywhere to be heard. A waiting silence broods above the Nameless Land. I do not know what this portends. But the time draws swiftly to some great conclusion. Storm is coming.

This Saturday at 5pm EST, Hall of Fire resume Two Towers chapter chats with Frodo and Sam still with the Men of Gondor at Henneth Annun. Frodo’s own fate — and that of the Quest — remains undecided, yet he is summoned in the small hours of the morning by Faramir to discover that he must, himself, to decide the fate of another.
`The creature is wretched and hungry,’ said Frodo, `and unaware of his danger. And Gandalf, your Mithrandir, he would have bidden you not to slay him for that reason, and for others. He forbade the Elves to do so. I do not know clearly why, and of what I guess I cannot speak openly out here. But this creature is in some way bound up with my errand. Until you found us and took us, he was my guide.’
