UPDATE: a little earlier we reported news from a previously reliable source about the length of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

In April, Richard Armitage said in an interview that he felt that the final Hobbit movie would be “a shorter film”.
And in the August edition of Empire, Jackson said that the then-existing rough cut was around 150 minutes without credits and that he was aiming to bring it down to 140 minutes.
