Our friends behind the very popular audio series The Minister of Chance have contacted us to share some exciting news – Sylvester McCoy is confirmed to reprise his role as The Witch Prime in the planned movie.
The Minister of Chance is well known by many fans, who feel a sense of ownership of the project; it was crowd-funded from the very beginning and, with no publicity budget, its popularity came through word of mouth alone. The audio series boasts a stellar cast including, in addition to McCoy, Jed Brophy, Paul McGann and Philip Glenister. You can find out more about the podcast series – and listen to it – here.
McCoy’s character in the show, The Witch Prime, is the leader of the Sezians, a group who believe in magic and hate science. Dan Freeman, the series’ writer, says, ‘He’s like a kind of evil Pope. Sylvester absolutely loves playing a baddie!’
