As many of you know, The Lord of the Rings films have long been running on TNT – and that tradition will continue with The Hobbit. Last year, the network nabbed the rights for An Unexpected Journey (due to air in 2015), and now they have ensured that the next chapter in Peter Jackson’s adaptation will air the following year.
From Deadline:
“TNT has been the primary television home to Tolkien’s Middle Earth for nearly a decade,” said TNT president Michael Wright. “We’re proud to continue our association with these extraordinary and enormously popular epics with the acquisition of The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug.”
