Have you watched LOTR enough times that you can recite, in character, the immortal lines of Smeagol or Gollum? Do you sound like the aged, tortured and nearly-bald addict of The One Ring? If so, TheOneRing.net wants to hear it and our friends at Weta have offered to reward fans for their efforts.
Each person who wants to give it a try will need to show up at the Weta booth (#2615) and will have up to 15 seconds to convince the rest of us that we are hearing a real voice from Middle-earth. SlaveBoy Films will film fans whining, choking, complaining, singing, begging or doing whatever else they must to get rewarded with some precious loot.
Weta has offered to help TheOneRing with prizes and is offering 20 Weta dollars (equal to $20 US at the Wetanz.com store) to the 10 best efforts after the taped auditions are reviewed and carefully judged. Entry is free and participants will need to provide their e-mail (not as Gollum) so we can contact them if they win. Videos will be posted on YouTube and Wetanz.com to show the world the awesome talents of fans at the San Diego Comic-Con.
TheOneRing.net’s own Quickbeam will be on hand to officiate and encourage participants and he may even be convinced to throw in his own Celeborn imitation as well.
