Turgon has written in about a new Green Books column he is working on, and he needs some help. Edmund Wilsons 1956 denunciation of Tolkien is infamous, but what about other members of highbrow literary circles, the ones who usually ignore Tolkien? Have any of them actually written or made comments in praise of Tolkien? Turgon knows of a few like W. H. Auden, and more recently, Salman Rushdie. If you know of others, and (this is important) can cite the references for their comments, please send them along to Turgon at Turgon@theonering.net.
